To the Team at TRASK...

     Just wanted to pass on a "great job" with work you performed on  my new Road Glide with your Harley 120R engine and Turbo system.   As with the first turbo bike you built for me last  year, again you have delivered on time and budget first in class workmanship  that translates into a great everyday reliable bike.  The Harley 120R engine was the perfect selection in keeping the bike a  "Harley" while obtaining a superb platform for taking it over the top  with your turbo kit. Over the years, I have turbo charged most all of  my toys and race equipment. As others will agree, when you add any power adder such  as a turbo, the "tune up" becomes one of the most critical factors in  both performance and engine reliability.  Once again, you hit a home run with the 120R kit and tune up.  It starts, performs like a stock bike  until the boost comes up making it think it's  200 ci engine.  I know it will be difficult for most to believe, yet it delivered better  fuel mileage than my wife's 2007 "110" Road King.
     I know the team at Trask take great pride in the great bikes they build.   My 2010 Road Glide with the "103" Turbo now has 6,800 absolute trouble free miles and given how new 120R turbo performs, I have no reason to expect anything less with this new bike.

A horse power mad friend of mine came to me in 2006 and said he had found a turbo set up that looked like it would work well on a V-Rod and wanted me to fit it for him. It turned out to be the Trask kit and after discussions with Nick Trask about the set up and what type of horse power numbers we should expect we ordered the kit which was the first one into Australia. At that stage I wasn’t a big V-Rod fan, but after fitting the turbo, seeing how well it nestled into the side of the bike, looking like it should always have been there and then having the bike to ride for a few weeks myself I was so impressed went out and ordered a new V-rod and my own turbo kit for that bike.

I still own that bike, a 2007 VRSCDX and have put over 35000k’s of hard riding on the clock with the turbo and engine never missing a beat. This package is so much fun to ride and really comes into its own on the open road with loads of very usable and controllable power (160hp+ at the wheel) but also behaves very nicely around town at lower speeds and in traffic. I even won the open class of an all Harley drag race day at Perth Motorplex.

I have since fitted many more kits to V-Rods and Twin-cams and never had any problems with any of them, in fact the Twin-cam set is up is an excellent alternative to the big cube, high compression, big cam set up because it is much more user friendly and reliable while making even more power.

I have however seen a couple of kits that owners have tried to fit themselves and have made real mess of, so if you are looking for bucket loads of usable power for your Harley then the Trask turbo system, in my opinion, is a great way to go, but please have an experienced bike mechanic or better still a Trask dealer fit it for you and I guarantee you will love the power and the fun you will have riding your bike.

I am writing to let you know how completely satisfied we are with your turbo package.  Last spring we contacted you in reference to installing one of your Turbo kits on my 06 Carbureted FLHX.

We operate a Harley Davidson Dealership and wanted to build a bike with big horsepower without going the big inch route.  After discussions with you, we followed your advice and began preparing the engine and ordered your Turbo package.  We flowed the stock heads for a compression ratio of app. 9 to 0, installed a 95” big bore kit, SE 253 cams and then the turbo package.

The installation took approximately 12 hours from start to finish and up and running.  Our tech had never seen a turbo kit nor ever installed one prior to this.  The installation and the initial tuning of the entire package was absolutely without issues.  Everything fits precisely as it was designed and we encountered no problems nor needed to perform any modification to it at all. 

After 1 hour on a dyno and with only modifications to the rev limiter, it was running clean, strong and producing 132 HP at the rear wheel and 117 lbs of torque.  The 42 Mikuni proved to be set up perfectly right out of the box.

Obviously, I am very pleased with the overall appearance, fit and operation of the package and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to add some “No Brainer Horsepower”.  The bike is a pleasure to ride in steady traffic, stop and go or flat out.  The top gear throttle response is unbelievable and will run from 65 MPH to over 120 in the length of an eighteen wheeler.  The constant “whine” of the Turbo will turn a trained ear quickly. 

We ran the bike at a local ¼ mile drag strip and the bike turned 6 mid 11 runs and finally posted a best time of 11.573 @ 114.44 MPH.  That was accomplished with a fresh Dunlop street tire with approximately 30 lbs of pressure.  In the past I have had an 11.3 second Low Rider and raced Speedway bikes for many years, horsepower and acceleration are not new to me but your Turbo package never fails to put a smile on my face every time I ride it.

Thanks for your engineering excellence.  It is refreshing to find someone who actually cares about his product, his customers and takes the extra time to make sure it is everything it is suppose to be.

I just wanted to say thanks again. The kit you provide is dead on. No surprises, everything fits, everything was there, excellant installation cd.

Unfortunately, I was doing real good staying patient right up until I pulled a bonehead mistake and broke the clutch spring plate. Man, I was one hour out from taking her out for a spin. That's what I get for taking short cuts and doing what I know not to do.

Anyways, I red tagged the plate from the local HD shop and it should be here tomorrow. I'll throw the clutch together and take her out for a spin. Again, excellant product and I thank you for your service.

The bike isn't finished yet, I'm still waiting for my tach and will order the Pingel electric shifter kit in the next couple of weeks. When I'm finished with what I wanted to do with the bike for this season I'll send you more pic's if you want.

You were right - I love my turbo! 

Prior to installing the Trask Turbo, my V-Rod had 106 h.p.  The motorcycle performed terrific.  Now after installing the turbo I have 166 h.p.  My bike is faster than a speeding bullet.  I have also installed an electric shifter, when I stand on the throttle, HOLD ON!  It is more powerful than a locomotive. 

I am very happy with the Trask Turbo’s performance.

After installing your system and having it dynoed at 165 h.p. I took it for a "RIDE" or it took me (smile). I was amazed at the performance.

When I returned, the guys in the shop ask, how the ride was, I said it was "Scary Fast" hence the name for the bike.

I recently bought this Turbo kit for my 2005 Night train. This kit is great and I would buy it all over again! The customer service at Trask Performance is AWESOME! I have bought many performance upgrades for cars and bikes, but none have been as great to deal with which is a big PLUS when buying any performance piece!!  

I have told everyone I know about how easy the install was. The power is Great like every naturally aspirated vehicle should be, but will never be, not to mention it looks great too. OH!, and it sounds BAD ASS!! Pretty much THIS KIT ROCKS!!!!! To some it up in a nut shell. If your looking for total performance at a great price... This is your kit!

Now I have to ask you. Do you need it? No. Do you have to have it? That is up to you. Do you want it? Yes! It is like having a fist full of money. It is always in the bank and you do not have to spend it, but the temptation is there. It's like having a docile bike on steroids. And I am sure abusing the steroids is not associated with longevity.

This is a true find. A very easy upgrade to serious fun without the hassles of rebuilding and milling and a lot of bolt on extras. Still runs on pump gas and the Turbo Kit can easily be taken off if you decide that you don’t need it or upgrade to a new V-Rod or maybe sell it on eBay.

Thanks Nick. You have put together a great package.
P. S. They told me that they can put a Turbo on just about any Harley now.

Thanks Nick, The kit was installed on an '06 Street Rod. It's an easy install that tucks in nicely and I love the look. It mad a fun bike to ride a really really really fun bike to ride. It made 165.8 hp and 104.3 ft lbs on our Dynojet Dyno and 170.3 hp at a dyno shootout competition. It does what you claim!
